Quite a few months ago I decided to participate in a digital mural project. Only today have I entered my submissions. And now the wait begins, as the mural consists of hundreds of other small artworks and the team combining them into specific colour sections will be busy for months to come!
The way it works is that artists, or really anybody who wants to contribute creatively, can buy 1 or more spots on a future artwork. It is a great project for schools and community organisations as well. I bought 3 panels and was assigned the green, blue and golden pallet. The size of the panel was only 6×6″, much smaller than what I usually paint on. It took my brain a while to figure out what images to create. The panel comes with a cute mini stand, small containers with the colours to use and two brushes. I chose to use my own materials though.
The idea is to create a digital image based on everybody’s contributions and then to put it on show. I don’t have information about all the details yet, but when I do, I will share it here. You can see what is in progress in this photograph of ‘The Bear’. I can’t wait to see where my 3 creations will land!

Quite a few community murals have been created in the past. Have a look here for more information and do consider, for upcoming murals, to contribute your artwork as well!
