Shoe rivalry…

Acrylic on board, 11 x 16″, CAD 350

All painting gives me great pleasure, but there are some pieces that do so more than others. This new work is based on a wedding I once attended in Richmond Park, London (UK). I looked at the shoes on the bridesmaids and I thought to myself: “Never will I be seen in one of those elegant high-heeled shoes!” Because I tend to prefer walking around barefoot or in sneakers!

My feet hurt while looking at the angles of their feet and angles, but, admittedly, it did make for a pretty picture. And one that I always remembered as an inspiration to paint. So here it is. A small board and a simple scene. But once you really look at it, your will see it for more than just shoes on bridesmaids. This is a veritable stand-off between two shoes! With the black pair supervising…. Hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I did creating this scene!
