Meet ‘His Majesty Humba’…

June 5, 2022

As promised, here is my recent painting, entitled ‘His Majesty’.
I worked hard to get him ready to show before yesterday’s ‘Art in the Garden’ event opened in Mississauga. It was great to hear so many of the visitors and fellow creative souls compliment me on it. As all artists, I can be very critical of my work, but ‘His Majesty’ was a joy to work on and I gave a deep satisfied sigh when I saw him ready and framed mere days ago! I hope you like him as much as I do!

‘His Majesty’ (18 x 24 inch canvasboard, framed) is available to sale or as an artprint on canvas at any size that works best for you. Contact me by email for pricing details.

The ‘Art in the Garden’ event, for which local painter Bob Arrigo had invented me, was a big success. What made it even more special was the fact that I could finally, really, physically, touch and hug friends who I had not seen since the outbreak of Covid. There were some wonderful reunions and I thank all of you who came out to see my work.

Interested to own?
Just in case you were at a show I participated in, and are interested in owning a piece of my art: some pieces are still available as original or as limited edition professional art-print. Art-prints are priced lower (depending on the final size) and they can be perfect when you have a particular spot in your house or company that needs art of a certain size or type. Printing a piece on canvas comes ready to hang and does not require framing. You can of course always ask for a framed print as well, in which case we can work together with my framing professional to pick your personal preference. If you have more available space and would like an original, I would be proud to let you adopt any of my creations… Shoot me an email via the ‘Contact’ section of this website if you are interested.
I do some commission work as well, but because all situations are different, let’s chat about your wishes and how to best make them come true.

On Saturday I brought a variety of my ‘stuff’. Framed photographs, original artworks and professional art-prints of my work. It was really nice to see all of it so well received. Some of my works got ‘adopted’ by new ‘owners’, which really pleased me.

Above and below: these pics are from before doors opened, with the new posters still in their plastic wrappers and protective corner pieces on the framed art…
My trusted helper Wim enjoying a coffee and a chat with a visitor during the show. I was too fast to capture on camera because I had so much joyful interaction with everyone who came out to see my art.

Kittens!

Some of the proceeds of this show went to Ninth Life Cat Rescue Ontario. Amazingly, they arrived at the show with a box of week-old (young!) tiny kittens that had to be hand-fed because their mother is too sick to nurse them. It just pulls at my heartstrings. It is not that long ago, after all, that Wim and I were looking after Mitsy’s last family! These kittens in the show however were so much smaller…. A foster family came to pick them up pretty early on, so I know that they have the best round-the-clock care possible, and can hopefully be reunited with their mother pretty quickly. And be well enough to be adopted in a month or two. Sending them my very best wishes and gratitude to the new foster family.

So small and new to the world that you’d almost be afraid to break them!
