Artworks for sale

The overview below contains screenshots of my work (not high definition images). Also have a look at my blog, as it may contain images of brand new works that are not present yet in the below list.

Elgin County Studio Tour: come see me in my studio!

To see the very latest, you are invited to come to the Elgin County Studio Tour in the last weekend of September (27 & 28), where I am one of the 5 St Thomas participating artists. More information can be found here:

https://www.elgincountystudiotour.ca/studios

Personal visits by appointment only

If you see something you like, we can also arrange a personal visit to my studio. Prices are excluding shipping. Depending on your address, it may be best to ship works unframed or have it hand delivered via a courier and with insurance (excluded from my price). All are original artworks, without digital alterations, some are offered for sale on canvas (mounted or board), some have been painted on flat canvas just waiting to find a new home and some are ready to hang and framed.

Art prints always available at request

Any of the listed works can be converted into a high quality art print, the price of which will generally speaking lower the price. If you are afraid this will negatively impact the quality of the art, have a look at the image below.

The above image shows the original portrait on the ease left, and the reproduction on mounted canvas at the right. It is hard to tell the difference, isn’t it? I have a really good printer for this work, so I am confident my art will look beautiful in such a reproduction. Allow for approximately 2 weeks on printing orders. The advantage of a print rather than the original is also that you get to choose the size of the work, so it fits your own preferences.

Please reach out to me via the contact page with further inquiries. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

A 25 year old field sketch gets a make-over…

The photograph below shows me working on “Sand bath”. The underlying drawing was a field sketch made some 25 years ago when I photographed and filmed the wild konik horse herds in the Netherland. Read my story about the filly I saved in one of the areas here: Tricky’s Story

I still have a folder with more field sketches and I do have plans to work on them in acrylic one day… For now, this one sketch drew my eye and it was fun painting it. The frame it is currently in (which IS for sale, as is this painting), is not unblemished and has a story of its own. We took it with us on our many travels and it was never a problem, until we moved to Bermuda, a tiny island in the Atlantic Ocean. When the household items we took with us arrived, the van that had picked them up from the harbour-container, was not very careful. We ended up sending in a hefty claim to the insurance company because many things were broken. So was the frame with glass that had another one of my paintings in it. The painting was a total loss and in fact the frame was as well. But I could not say good bye to it, as it had been custom made for me back in The Netherlands. I carried it with me during every next move. And in Canada I finally found a good framing business that was willing to repair it. It is now less wide and the wood does have scratches, but it is a souvenir to me of my travels. So… if you were interested in this painting, you are welcome to take it in this frame, or we can have it reframed at cost in a new frame. You will be getting a piece of my heart if you take the current frame, but I will not be offended if you prefer a new one. Just don’t take the painting as is and then discard the frame. I’d rather have it back…. But first: come to the Studio Tour to see the painting with your own eyes!

Commissions: paintings, photography or digital art

Below are 3 examples of paintings of pets. These are my own cats, 2 of whom have passed. Their portraits mean a lot to my husband and myself – it is a way to still have them close to us. Besides photography and our own experiences with them, the fact that we knew these cats through and through was a tremendous help in getting their portraits just right. For commissions I therefore usually request at least one meeting with the pet I am asked to paint and I will make multiple reference shots as well. If the pet is deceased, I would ask for multiple excellent quality photographs and even videos. There is nothing worse for a client when I deliver a mere copy of a single photograph, without really transferring the animal’s character and special features to the painting.

Photo collage

I am also well-versed in digital art, so if you would prefer an artistic photographic collage, I might be able to be of service in that way.

If you are interested in a commission of your pet (or a human loved one!), let me know via the contact form on this website and we can chat about your wishes and preferences.
