Whenever I watch an official wedding take place, I hardly ever look at faces. They are (usually) covered in make up and I find the dresses of the bridesmaids often hideous. Sorry. Don’t mean to offend anyone. It is what it is! The thing that usually draws my attention are the shoes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have to explain: I have had two weddings. During the first one, I wore flat shoes because I had managed to tear my ankle ligaments 6 weeks before the big day. So no heels for me, doctor’s orders. I was kind of relieved to be honest, I am not very comfortable in heels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During my second wedding I fell for a pair of ankle boots that did in fact have a small heel. You can actually see them in my ‘Leg selfie’ and they are present ‘in the flesh’ in the corner of the living room with my two other selfies. They were super cute boots and they had acceptably low heels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, they are no longer a good fit, and they have barely been worn after my wedding day, but I have not been able to detach from them. They represent warm memories of a wonderful day that I do not want to let go of. I may paint the boots some day, perhaps, but I will keep them. And they will probably even be ‘willed’ to someone after I die…. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I digress…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High heels are uncomfortable to me and I always check out the shoes of any wedding party because I wonder how much pain the ladies will be in during the festivities!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the weddings I observed happened in London, Great Britain. I was comfortably seated on a bench opposite the wedding location (dressed in equally comfortable sneakers, of course!) when I saw the wedding party arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shoes, cosmetically, were a sight to behold. They were beautiful, as were the tights cladding the shapely legs of the ladies. I took some photographs, smiling at everyone who noticed me. They probably thought I was doing full body shots of what they must have thought were magnificent outfits. Well, honesty dictates that I admit they were<\/em> very nice dresses. But the shoes…. and this is where the title of this piece comes in. It looked as if they were in a stand-off, engrossed in a rivalry to win the big price! I just felt sorry for the ladies. I am sure that, at the end of the night, their feet must have been hurting like hell….<\/p>\n\n\n\n
